About the role

As a Deployment Engineer at LlamaIndex, you’ll be the primary interface between our beloved customers and the team, deploying and managing our ever-growing systems in complex customer environments. We’re looking for engineers who obsess over customer pain, thrive in high-agency environments, never overlook the details, and want to empower customer organizations with AI.

Responsibilities

• Own customer infrastructure stability. From the moment they start deploying LlamaCloud to every upgrade afterwards, you are a core part of their experience.

• Build tooling to make deployments more reliable, highly observable, and easier to debug. You proactively identify gaps in the system and execute on improvements.

• Triage and troubleshoot errors in customer deployments. You’re not afraid of getting in the weeds with them and implementing solutions.

• Power the feedback loop between the customers and product and infrastructure teams.

• Write crystal clear documentation, playbooks, or anything else that improves the overall deployment experience.

• Ideate and implement solutions that exponentially increase customer happiness and drive wide-spread organization adoption.

Qualifications

• You have 5+ years of Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineering, or similar work experience.

• You have experience deploying and managing various cloud deployment models, from multi-tenant SaaS to private deployments.

• You have experience implementing end to end DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering practices from robust CI/CD pipelines to release management best practices.

• You have deep experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

• You have strong coding and debugging skills in Python or Golang.

• You are self-starter with a strong desire to learn new things and tackle hard technical problems.

• You are an excellent communicator. You excel at both written and verbal communication and collaborate effectively across various engineering teams and customer personas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience working with large enterprises or Fortune 500 companies

• Expertise in one or more cloud providers like Azure, AWS, and GCP

• Experience with modern GitOps practices

• Experience with cloud observability tools like Grafana or Datadog

• Practical experience in general cloud network and security concepts
